ALEX BROUGH is currently Co-Director of Bands at Worthington Kilbourne High School in Columbus, OH. At Kilbourne, he directs the Wind Ensemble, Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, and Marching Band. Alex began his DCI experience with the Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps before marching with the Madison Scouts and spending eight years as a member of their brass faculty.
Previously, Alex taught in the Bexley City School District and the Whitehall City School District in the greater Columbus, OH area. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from The Ohio State University and is pursuing his master’s degree in Band Conducting from Sam Houston State University. While at Ohio State, Alex was a member of the university’s top ensembles including the Symphony Orchestra, Wind Symphony, Jazz Ensemble, and The Ohio State University Marching Band, in which he served 2 years as squad leader. Prior to graduating, Alex was Low Brass Fellow at the Marrowstone Music Festival in Bellingham, WA where he learned from Joseph Rodriguez of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. Alex has performed with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, local soul band “Capital Sound”, and regularly performs throughout the Central Ohio area.
