Student Leadership Instructor and Drum Major Camp Director
MARK KVETON has been involved with Pacific Crest as either a performer, instructional staff member, or administrator for over a decade. The 2020 season will mark his ninth year on the Pacific Crest instructional staff as a Student Leadership/Drum Major Coach, and tenth year as the Director of the Pacific Crest Drum Major Camps.
Along with his work at Pacific Crest, Mark actively participates on the faculty for Drum Corps International’s (DCI) Leadership Seminar and E-Adjudicate’s Learning Academy/Outreach programs, where he mentors and trains student leaders from across the country. He continues to freelance as a leadership clinician and educator/designer for programs all across Southern California. Programs he has worked with include Rowland, Esperanza, Santa Monica, Gladstone, Alta Loma, and Hoover High Schools. As a program administrator, Mark was the Director for the Pulse Percussion ensemble from 2015-2017, and currently runs their educational outreach clinics.
Mark’s drum corps experience includes being a Drum Major for Pacific Crest from 2008-2011, receiving a Jim Jones Leadership Award Finalist designation in 2010. During that time, he also attended the University of California, Irvine and received his B.A. in Psychology and Social Behavior. He presently holds a full-time position with the University of Southern California as an Assistant Director of Admission. He is currently pursuing a M.S. degree in Arts Leadership at USC’s Thornton School of Music.
Mark lives with his wife Antoinette (fellow Pacific Crest alum) in Arcadia, CA.
