Originally from Long Beach, California, ERIC FIERO is a graduate of UCLA, where he studied trumpet performance with the Jens Lindemann, and earned a degree in Music Education. His teaching experiences include various middle school and high school band programs, as well as a private studio of a dozen students ranging in age from 8-20. His students have competed successfully in solo festivals and have been selected for honor groups and Santa Clara Vanguard. In 2008, Eric was tapped to instruct the Alhambra All-City Marching Band for the 2009 Rose Parade.
Eric and his wife Mallorie moved to Tucson, AZ, in 2011. Eric worked as Assistant Band Director for Tucson High Magnet School, the oldest high school marching band in Arizona. While there, he wrote their drill and helped lead them to a Superior rating and many caption awards. At the same time he served as the band teacher for Miles K-8 Exploratory Academy.
Eric is Director of Bands at Sahuaro High School in Tucson, AZ. At Sahuaro, Eric teaches the marching band, two concert bands, jazz band, guitar, and AP Music Theory. Since starting at Sahuaro he has revitalized their program by quickly bringing them back to the State Festival in his first year and having the first color guard in five years.
